Hansen Received the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota Volunteer of the Year Award

Dacotah Bank — (Aberdeen, S.D.) — United Way of Northeastern South Dakota has awarded Kip Hansen, Regional President in Aberdeen, the Volunteer of the Year Award. The Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates a volunteer whose service has made a significant impact at United Way of Northeastern South Dakota. Aaron Schultz, Executive Director, stated, “United Way of Northeastern South Dakota has greatly benefited by Mr. Hansen’s dedication to our mission through the years. He knows the work is about people, not programs. Mr. Hansen unselfishly shares his skills and contributes significant time to help our organization build a stronger community where everyone can thrive.” 

Kip Hansen is a SDSU graduate and started his professional career as an assistant manager with Walmart. He began his banking career with Dacotah Bank in Watertown in 1995 and remained in the Watertown location for 21 years. He first served as an ag lender and business banker before becoming the market president. In 2016, Kip and his wife, and three children moved to Aberdeen to serve as the market president.  While at Dacotah Bank, Kip graduated from the South Dakota Agriculture and Rural Leadership (SDARL) program, Graduate School of Banking, and Dakota School of Banking.

 Kip is actively involved in the community as a past president and champion for United Way, vice-chairman of the Aberdeen Development Corporation Executive Board, and a volunteer for numerous causes including Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Brown County Fair, Junior Achievement, and Aberdeen’s Dacotah Bank Cares campaigns.
